How to get to Lyon
- From Paris-Roissy Charles De Gaulle Airport (CDG)
- From Paris-Orly Airport (ORY)
- From Lyon Saint Exupéry Airport (LYS) to Lyon
- From Geneva
Get to the TGV train station. A TGV takes you straight to either Lyon train station of Part-Dieu (first and best stop) or Perrache (second stop) in two hours. You can also take the RER B line (regional metro) to Paris (45 mn) and catch a TGV from Gare de Lyon to Lyon Part-Dieu or Lyon Perrache. Get off at RER B stop 'Chatelet-Les Halles' and then take the RER A to Gare de Lyon for 1 stop (RER map available here). TGV frequency: one hour. Last departure at 10:00 PM. BE AWARE THAT GARE DE LYON IS IN PARIS.
Connect to Gare de Lyon by bus, metro or taxi. The airport is indirectly connected to Paris downtown by the Orlyval (automatic metro), a short 8-minute hop to the RER station 'Antony' in the suburb of Arceuil. From there you can take the RER B line north, directly into the heart of Paris. The journey takes about 35 minutes to reach the 'Chatelet-Les Halles' stop, where you can take the RER A for 1 stop to Gare de Lyon.
Exit Terminal 1 and take a Satobus (airport shuttle bus) to Part-Dieu train station (30 mn) or Perrache train station (50 mn). Frequency: 20 mn.
There are 4 low cost airlines serving Lyon Saint Exupéry Airport: Easyjet and Thomsonfly for England, Atlas Blue for Marocco, and Blue Air for Romania.
Take a train to Lyon Part-Dieu or Lyon Perrache (1 hour and 30 mn).
How to get to the conference site
The conference will be held on the Université Lyon 1, la Doua campus located in Villeurbanne, next to Lyon. To reach the campus:
- From Lyon Part-Dieu or Lyon Perrache, take the tram line T1, direction IUT-FEYSSINE.
Get off at tram stop LA DOUA-GASTON BERGER. - Or take a taxi to Université Lyon 1, Villeurbanne, la Doua.
The conference room is the Grand Amphitheater located in the CPE building, at the north of the campus. From the LA DOUA-GASTON BERGER tram stop, follow the Gaston Berger avenue on the left. About 200m further, take Victor Grignard street on the left for another 100m to reach the CPE building entrance. Cross the hall towards the downward stairs, the amphitheater is just here. Lunches will be taken on-site, in the restaurant of the personnel of the university. This restaurant is located in front of the Nautibus building (CLUB P. building on the map). The bus for the gala dinner will leave from the parking lot of the Nautibus building.
